Easy rider…

The overnight train from our prior stop, Phan Rang, not much to mention here, arrived at 5 am in Ho Chi Minh City. Pretty much right away we went to visit the Cu Chi tunnels to avoid the swarms of tourists going there later in the day. The tunnels were built by the Vietcong during the war against the French and the Americans and were approximately 200 km in total length. They proved to be a major challenge for the Americans during the war. After a quick rest in the hotel, we enjoyed big city life, with a walk to a few sights, such as the Notre Dame Cathedral and the post office built by the French, followed by dinner in the flashy nightlife district.

Our last day in Ho Chi Minh City has been spent visiting the War Remnants Museum and gaining new energy for the next part of the trip to Cambodia.
