Returning to the start

Moving from Karol Bagh, where our tour ended to the new domicile at the more edgy Madpackers hostel in South Delhi was a complete culture change. This was followed by the discovery of the Hauz Khas village which is a mini Soho with fancy eateries, boutiques and galleries in an urban setting. A reasonably short walk from here is the Dilli Haat (despite Tuktuk drivers with a different opinion, this is the only true government market, so no scammers and no hassling for a negligible cover charge of 100 INR and a unique selection of craft ware from across India). After a good night’s sleep we went back on the tourist trail and visited the Lodhi gardens with its tombs, followed by India Gate, Rashtrapati Bhavan and Connaught Place.
