Iconic landmarks and scenic beaches

When we arrived in Sydney, Covid-19 cases and related restrictions were still minimal, hence we took the opportunity to visit the usual sights. Keeping the recommended two meter distance was also not an issue as there were not too many tourists around anyways. We managed to pack the city sights into one day and the beach walk from Coogee to Bondi beach (prior to it being shut down) into the other. As restrictions became stricter, we reduced our sightseeing to a stroll across the harbour bridge on Sunday obeying social distancing and now we are basically confined to our hotel room. In light of the rapid escalation of the situation even here in Australia, we took the decision to end our world tour here and fly back to Germany on Thursday. Our flight is via Tokyo, so we can at least get a glimpse of one of our most anticipated destinations. We will properly end our travels (for now) with a final Blog entry when we are back home.
