Our full-day in Jaipur was dominated by palaces and forts and spiced-up by a bbq in the yard of a car repair shop within the city in the evening. At the Amer Fort, the mirror “room” was the very impressive with its little mirrors all across the sealing. In bygone times, these mirrors would reflect the colour of the carpets and dip the whole room in the corresponding light. The Hawa Mahla or Palace of Winds, especially at night helps to understand the lavish lifestyle some of the rulers in the state pursued back in the day. The sightseeing concluded with the Albert Hall Museum which was lit up in all colours and was a finish worthy of the day.
