Day 3 – Speeding downhill

Today we started early, leaving no time for breakfast in the hotel, hence Banans and cookies had to be enough. The early start was required due to the 1.5h hour drive to the Great Wall, which is usually very busy later in the day. Initially wanting to hike up to the wall we decided to use the chairlift instead after realizing that it would be much farther than expected and the temperature being above 30 degrees. We spent quite some time on the wall, walking in each direction and enjoying the view and taking the obligatory photos along the way. For the way down we had the choice between Toboggan and chairlift, I chose the chairlift and enjoyed the views while Romy speeded down the hill with the Toboggan. Due to delays and traffic jams on the way back we arrived in Beijing later than expected. However, this was not really a bad thing as we got to experience the Tian’anmen square by night. On the way to the hotel we also saw the beautifully lit-up old towers of the old city wall.
