Day 2 – First full day in Beijing
Nothing starts the day like congee with vegetables and steamed buns. After this breakfast for champions the group made its way to the Forbidden City using public transportation and entertained the locals on their way to work and school. We entered the Forbidden City through the South Gate and made our way through the different sections all the way through the Forbidden Garden to the exit on the north side. Following this light walk, we “climbed” the man made hill north of the Forbidden City enjoying a great view across the vast expanse of Beijing. Later we went to the Hutong area which consists of historic houses and streets and enjoyed a stroll around the area. The day concluded with a spectacular show of traditional Chinese acrobatics as well as modern motorcycle stunts.
