Back to basics

After enjoying the amenities of the big city, such as running water, we went to our next stop, the small village of Chambok.

Here, it was literally back to basics, squat toilet, bucket shower and sleeping on a mattress on the ground under a mosquito net in a room with other tour members. In the afternoon we enjoyed the “smaller” sights of this area, which was previously caught in the war between the different Cambodian factions. These sights included the mini Grand Canyon and the local waterfall and in the evening we enjoyed a local dinner prepared by some of the women of the village.

All in all a very nice experience of a simpler life.
