Five nights in Bangkok

Entering Bangkok coming from Cambodia feels like entering pretty much any other metropolis. The outskirts are plastered with factories and businesses and when coming closer to the center a jungle of skyscrapers arises. But once through the traffic you realise that you actually entered the bling bling pagoda capital of the world. There small, large, white, gold, shiny and sparkling pagodas and any combination of these you can imagine. All is topped by the Wat Phra Kaew, the home of the Emerald Buddha, next to the Grand Palace.

In addition to the religious sights, Bangkok also is home to world class malls, Muay Thai and nightlife. We visited the famous Rajadamnern stadium for fight night and explored Sukhumvit and found the impressive Terminal 21 mall, restaurants serving all types of food, the Art Market and its food stalls as well as many nightclubs and bars. Of course in addition to this, Bangkok is also famous for its "adult entertainment" and a visit wouldn't be complete without having a peak. We strolled down Soi Cowboy with the strip clubs and scantily dressed women and enjoyed a beer in the self-proclaimed world's larges adult entertainment playground Nana Plaza.

All in all, Bangkok with all its attractions and distractions is almost too much to handle.
