Day 6 – Local produce

Today we were having an early start heading for the local food market at 6:40 am. In addition to the usual vegetables and fruits you could also buy live seafood. I very much liked the selection of breakfasts and enjoyed rice with plums and beans (which I got “for free” in exchange for taking a photo with the owner) and a Chinese burger as a desert. Afterwards we headed back to the Muslim quarter to visit the Chinese architecture mosque and spent some time in its tranquil gardens. After getting back to the hotel it was time to check-out and head to the bullet train for the journey to Chengdu. The dinner was another culinary highlight as we enjoyed spicy hotpot with plenty of meat, fish and vegetables to cook.
